Privacy policy
This policy explains how Linje Consulting collects and uses personal data when you visit linjeconsulting.com, contact us, sign up for our newsletter or send us a job application. Linje Consulting is the data controller for this processing. You can reach us at post@linjeconsulting.com.
What we collect
- Contact form and email: your name, email address and organisation, and the information you choose to give us, such as phone number and your message.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Job applications: your name, contact details, your message, any profile link, and any files you attach, such as a CV.
- Website visits: when you load a page, our hosting provider automatically receives technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure.
- Usage statistics: only if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner, we collect statistics about how the website is used through Google Analytics. See Cookies and local storage below.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and follow up on it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
- To send you the newsletter. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- To consider your application. The legal basis is the steps needed before a possible employment contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and your consent where we keep your application for later roles.
- To deliver the website and protect it against misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To understand how the website is used and improve it. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given in the cookie banner.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to answer and follow up, and no longer than 12 months after the last contact unless we start working together.
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
- Applications and attachments are deleted no later than six months after the recruitment process ends, unless you agree that we may keep them longer.
- Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for operation and security.
- Google Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf under a data processing agreement:
- Google (Firebase Hosting and Cloud Functions): hosts the website and handles the forms. The form service runs in the EU (Belgium).
- Resend: delivers the messages you send through our forms, including attachments, to our inbox.
- Our email provider: stores the messages we receive and send.
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.): usage statistics, only if you have accepted it.
- Google Fonts: the fonts on the website are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address when a page is loaded.
Some of these providers are based in the United States or may process data there. In those cases, the transfer is based on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising or profiling. The website stores the following in your browser:
- linje-lang (local storage, necessary): remembers your language choice. Kept until you clear it.
- linje-consent (local storage, necessary): remembers your answer to the cookie banner. Kept until you clear it or change your choice.
- _ga and _ga_* (cookies, Google Analytics, only after "Accept all"): distinguish visitors so we can count visits and see which pages are used. Kept for up to two years.
If you choose "Only necessary", Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. You can change your choice at any time. If you withdraw your consent, the analytics cookies are deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object to or ask us to limit our processing, ask for your data in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, email us at post@linjeconsulting.com. If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
Changes
We update this policy when we change how we process personal data. The latest version is always available on this page.
